Judge Ewing Werlein Jr., mayor Annise Parker, and District Attorney Pat Lykos, and a lawyer for one of the officers tried to suppress the footage, saying “officers won’t get a fair trial if the footage is released.” The mayor called for the prosecution of the person who released the footage, then later retracted her statement.
